Fireworks Permit Application
The City of Waverly requires the purchase of a fireworks permit to sell fireworks in city limits. Application paperwork is accepted between March 1 and May 1 and the fee is $1,000.00. Please see our ordinance for specific rules and regulations. Fireworks sales are only permitted Community Commercial (CC) zoning district (Zoning Regulations, Article 4, §11.411.303). According to Zoning Regulations Article 6, §11.615, b, 6, you must fill out a temporary use permit and get prior approval from the Zoning Administrator to sell fireworks in an area zoned anything other than CC (Residential zoned areas are prohibited). Fireworks sales are only permitted between June 25 - July 4 and December 29 - December 31. Sky Lanterns are PROHIBITED in Waverly.
Fireworks may be lawfully discharged on the above dates between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. from June 25 through July 3 and 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 a.m. (midnight) on July 4 and December 31.
