Zoning Regulations
Zoning is how the city implements the ideas and plans of the Comprehensive Plan. Zoning outlines regulations for property owners providing a guide on how to use their land properly and in the common interests of the public. Zoning also helps to separate incompatible properties. This prevents, for example, industrial facilities from being located in the middle of a neighborhood and possibly detracting from the quality of living in that community. This also helps to keep the city organized.
