As Mayor, Gerdes ensures the law is upheld and that the City follows these laws. The City Attorney, City Administrator, and the Mayor all work together to ensure city policies are followed. Staying well connected with administration helps keep the Mayor well coordinated. Gerdes was elected in 2020 following Mike Werner. The newly appointed mayor will be seated at the first meeting in December 2024 (second Tuesday).
