Exciting news for Waverly’s four-legged residents—and their humans!
The City of Waverly is actively working on securing funding for a community dog park to be located on the north side of Lawson Park. This project will provide a dedicated, fenced space where dogs can run, play, and socialize safely off-leash, while bringing neighbors together in a shared, outdoor setting.
To kick off fundraising efforts, the Park to Park and a Bark 5k & Dog Run was scheduled for Saturday August 9 and there was a good turnout of registrants! Unfortunately the weather had other plans and the event had to be canceled. Thank you to everyone who registered for the fun run with all proceeds going directly to the development of the dog park.
The next fundraising opportunity, was the Paws & Splash Bash dog swim on the final open day of the 2025 Aquatic Center season on Sunday, August 24 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thank you to all the community members who signed up for this event!
